Thanks A Lot
On Thursday, we give thanks for all that we have; weather-envy from the rest of the country, the day off from work, Tofurkey on the table, and whatever our latest fashion acquisition happens to be. This year, we’re thankful for Afrobeta’s dance party, a titillating bike ride led by the TM Sisters, and O Cinema, for bringing Melancholia to Miami.
Friday: Shake Your Money Maker

Where: The Stage
When: 11:00 p.m.
After a long, hard day of shopping, shake off those Black Friday blues (and possibly black-and-blues) with the electro-opus that is Afrobeta. The party starts late so you can get all the shopping you want in before heading down to The Stage for a much-needed dance party.
What to wear? Pair a saturated yellow Diane von Furstenberg Elley Mini Skirt with updated classics like a slouchy, Vince Oversized Tee and a Bianca Denim Jacket from J. Crew. Elevate your look with signature boots, like these supersized Alexander Wang Constance Leather Platform Ankle Boots.
Saturday: Hit the G-Spot

Where: Begins @ Government Center
When: 4:00 p.m.
Miami has long been cultivating a distinct art culture, but the development of a definite bike culture is a littler newer. In a city with sub-par public transit and (mostly) beautiful weather year-round, it’s no surprise that a slew of cyclists would emerge as they have. So it was only a matter of time before art walk turned into art-ride - Beached Miami takes art out of the gallery and onto the streets with The G-Spot Bike Ride, hosted by local artists the TM Sisters. Kicking off at Government Center, the group ride will take you to ten grand-scale installations by artists challenged to “make anything.” After the ride, cool down with free beer at sunset at The Stage.
Look cool and stay cool on your ride in a light, loose Reiss Oversize Shirt in Electric Blue, worn over a pair of white Zadig & Voltaire Play Denim Cut-off Shorts. Keep your feet safe in classic Parisian sneakers, like these understated slate High-Tops from Bensimon. Brighten up with a cross-over bag that can hold all your stuff, a Cambridge Satchel Company Green Fluro Cracked Leather Satchel, and cover up with retro-inspired Selima Optique Cat-eye Sunglasses.
Sunday: It's the End of the World as She Knows It
© ASOS, Levi's, ASOS, Aurelie BidermannWhat: Melancholia
Where: O Cinema
When: 12:30 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 8:45 p.m.
Despite the universal lore of “holiday cheer,” director Lars von Trier debuts his new film Melancholia just as the merry days get underway. Kirsten Dunst returns to the silver screen (and snagged Best Actress at Cannes) for the portrayal of Justine, a bride battling depression, discontent and the possible destruction of the world by a rogue planet, the newly discovered Melancholia. Check out the trailer at http://www.o-cinema.org/2011/11/melancholia.
There’s no need to dress depressed, and in fact, the right combinaton of colors and fibers in your outfit may actually improve your mood. Start with a slinky Space-dyed Midi-dress from ASOS, worn underneath a Levi’s Made & Crafted Navy Cotton Blazer to smarten it up. Flat ASOS ARK Leather Cross Strap Ankle Boots are a cool alternative to flats, and an Aurelie Bidermann Snake Collar Necklace is just plain cool.
