Get ready, because this weekend looks to be booked solid – get your local culture fix at the fabulous Found on Thursday night, then get up early and get on down to Downtown for a bevy of books when the Miami Book Fair International opens ups for the first day of the street fair. After stimulating your scholarly side, take Saturday off to chill by the pool at the exquisite Mondrian South Beach.

Earlier this month, we talked with Sloan Solomon about some of the goods in her Wynwood-shop Found, including her personal favorites - like a picture of a dead squirrel in a beautifully gilded frame. If you haven’t gotten around to finding out about Found, now’s your chance. This Thursday, this multi-dimensional space opens up for an evening of local lovin’, with music by The Edan Archer Band, Sirens and Sealions, Arboles Libres, eats from the Ms. Cheezious and Coolhaus trucks, and art from Miami’s finest.

Friday: Literally the Best

In a time where the most word-on-brain action most of us get is via texts, tweets, and blogs (hello!) let the omnipresence of the Miami Book Fair International be assurance that reading – reading books – is still cool. In fact, it’s probably cooler than ever given its retro-status, so do yourself a favor and get yourself downtown this Friday on the first day of the street fair (bonus – admission is free on the first day!) The rainbow of tents lining the streets is ready and waiting, filled with those tangible blocks of words on paper that Kindle-converts may say are a relic of yesterday, but we say are most definitely still in style.

Keep it casual and hit the streets in slouchy Adriano Goldschmied Ex-Boyfriend Denim Shorts and an oversized Quicksilver Check One-Two Top. Red patent Prada Cap-Toe Sneakers are about as luxe as athletic shoes get, and an aptly-named Proenza Schouler Book Bag can stash all the books you’re bound to buy. Don’t forget your shades – Friday is forecasted to be sunny – these United Bamboo Browline Sunglasses are wonderfully bookish.

Saturday: Lounge Around

Take a breather from the claustrophobic club scene and spend your Saturdays at the swank Mondrian Hotel on South Beach instead. The party starts as early as 2:00 p.m., where you can get your cocktail fix poolside with caipirinhas to a soundtrack of Brazilian tunes well into the evening, when the party moves to the Sunset Lounge until the wee hours of the morn. Hey, you can always get a room.

There’s nothing like lounging in a chic crocheted Missoni Canasta Dress, especially poolside at the Mondrian.
