A Bootie for All Seasons

The seasons may not change too drastically here in Miami, but the reprieve from the sweltering summer heat does lend itself to a myriad of new wardrobe choices. As the weather slowly cools, we can experiment more with layers and knits, with tights and trousers. We may never struggle to keep warm, but it sure beats fighting to keep cool.

Perhaps our favorite seasonal swap is switching the mandatory sandals of summer for the slick stylings of an ankle boot. A perfect compromise for Miamians, an ankle bootie has all the shape and substance of a full-length boot, but with none of the leg-suffocating leather. Best to save those knee-high riding boots for when (and if) the temperature really drops.

Platform, patent, high-heeled, low-heeled, or no-heeled, the bootie is a versatile option that’s just right for jeans, dresses, and skirts – maxi, mini, or midi. Here’s seven styles we’re lusting after right now.

What’s great about booties is that it’s not all about the height; a flat pair has its own appeal.
