Historically, Miami hasn't gotten a lot of love in the form of sample sales, but all of that has changed over the past couple years, what with Gilt City, Global Trends and Rue La La all coming into the Miami market. And now, Sassy Chicks, a California-based company that brings together designers with shoppers in a party-like atmosphere, is getting on the bandwagon and coming to Miami.

Now hosted in seven major markets, Sassy Chicks grew from a small sample sale for the firm’s PR clients “into a major girl’s night out event," says Sassy Chicks marketing manager Ashley Proud.

“It’s nice to see, with the state of our economy, the enthusiasm that women have for these kinds of events," Proud says. "It’s fun to see women come to the show – their eyes light up."

© Sassy City ChicksTonight, Sassy Chicks host their first Miami sample sale in the Moore Building, and a party it will be. There will be drinks courtesy of Pinnacle vodka and Qream Liquor and salon treatments courtesy of local salons. But you don’t go to a Sassy Chicks event for the free drinks, you go for the shopping.

Headlining the inaugural event will be two of Miami’s favorite local lines KRELwear and Lorie Lester. 

“The Miami designer community is very close-knit, that’s unique to this event is that a lot of the designers are based there,” says Proud says.

Also for the taking will be items from Nugaard Designs, Cimber Designs, TAudrey, Maggie May Swimwear, HipE Boutique, Lady Lux Boutique, Stella & Dot, Daniella Millan, Tarnish Jewels, Karma Couture, and the LA-based Concepcion.

So, what can you expect? “Deep discounts,” Proud says. “Up to 80%. Most designers will offer wholesale prices.”
