Off the Racks with Claudia Sanz

Ever wondered what it’s like to have a personal shopper come to your house with racks full of clothes personalized to your taste? This kind of service, which is usually reserved for the rich and famous, is now available to everyone, thanks to Claudia Sanz’s innovative new business, Green Grass on Racks.

Sanz, who ran the popular Green Grass boutique in Mary Brickell Village, for six years, decided to simplify her business by closing the doors to the beloved Green Grass and taking her style on the road.

“Having the boutique was so time consuming. I wanted to continue to do what I love but without having the commitment to that space” Sanz explains. “I had been doing this in-home service for a few select clients while I was running the boutique, and I finally decided to make it my full time focus. Many of my clients were so busy they didn’t have time to come into the store, so I’d go to them. I realized there was a real market for this serivce."

For moms and working women on the go, this service is the perfect way to stay current on your fashion and not waste a whole afternoon of shopping, or dealing with the annoying return process of online shopping gone wrong.

The concept is simple. Utilizing the power of Facebook, Sanz simply uploads photos of available merchandise, clients sort through the pictures and let her know what they like. Then Sanz brings the clothes to her clients and the shopping begins.

“I usually bring around 10 items for the client to chose from – I get an idea of what she likes from the photos she chooses and I’ll throw in a few extra pieces that will help create the perfect outfit."

Sanz also helps her clients accessorize their looks to perfection. She'll look through their wardrobes and select the shoes and accessories that will go best with their new threads and point them in the direction of what pieces will help complete their looks. It’s like having a full time stylist right on speed dial.

The great thing about Green Grass on Racks is that you won’t need to mortgage your home to afford the clothes. Those who shopped at Green Grass before it closed might remember that some of the merchandise was on the expensive end. Not anymore.

Instead of worrying about what brand it is and what the price is, we worry about how it fits and feels.” A refreshing notion for a service that seems like it would be pretty costly.

Sanz’s customers can trust that they are in good hands when it comes to being styled by Green Grass on Racks. Sanz has an extensive background as a stylist and has worked on shoots for everyone from E! Latin America, to Brickell Magazine. At Green Grass, she had a celebrity following including Colombian bombshell Sophia Vergara and Nelly Furtado.

When you spend time with Sanz, you’ll instantly want to be her friend. Her warm personality and bohemian style are infectious. Perhaps it’s this combination that makes Green Grass on Racks such a brilliant concept - it’s like shopping with a girlfriend from the comfort of home. For moms and working women on the go, this service is the perfect way to stay current on your fashion and not waste a whole afternoon of shopping, or dealing with the annoying return process of online shopping gone wrong.

For now, Green Grass on Racks is available in the Brickell and Key Biscayne areas, with plans for expansion in the near future. You can check out the available merchandise on their Facebook page or email claudia@greengrasshouse.com.
