Like Mother Like Daughter
MFb reader Brooke S. has an exciting trip ahead – she's helping her daughter move and settle into her new grad school pad in Chicago, her first place in a new city all by herself. Both are imagining the trip as a sort of joyful introduction to an adult life and they are very much looking forward to walking, shopping, laughing, reading in the park and just enjoying the weather.
Because they're packing light, they decided to bring some things that they will both wear (yes, they share same dress and shoe size – how convenient!). Brooke asked me to create some combinations that would suit each of them. I picked from the closet what seemed unused for a while. The elements are a Miss Sixty jean shirt/jacket zippered in the front, two wrap dresses from BCBG, and a Brioni robe manteau. They'll also share a tiger eye and turquoise necklace that looks great with almost anything.

Brooke's Brioni robe manteau (in luscious cashmere) can be worn underneath the jean jacket, perfect for mid season, with the incredible tiger eye and turquoise necklace. A pair of funky Stuart Weitzman pumps pull it all together.

The black wrap dress, waist accentuated by a brown leather belt, the jean jacket and the necklace. Wear with black flats (for a day spent walking) or heels (for an evening out).

Here is an enviable ensemble – the leaf-motif wrap dress worn with green lizard Chanel pumps, a classic Gucci satchel, and a linen wrap twisted as a scarf at the neck. Tie it all together with the tiger eye and turquoise necklace worn as a bracelet.
