The best times are often had when you find yourself caught up in the action, asking "how did I get here?" This weekend, hop from dubstep dance party to experimental film festival to a swanky skyscraper brunch, and try not to worry too much about what happens in between.

Friday: Step It Up

Hobbs got her start in the rock band Heretic before snagging a radio show with the BBC, the “Experimental/Electronic Breezeblock,” which she hosted for an astounding fourteen years. An expert in her field, Hobbs has curated concerts, released albums, and even dropped her own.  She performs Friday with GONJASUFI, LORN, and the resident DJs too. Vagabond sweetens the deal with $1 Stella from 10 – 11, and shot specials all night.

If it’s a late night during a Miami April and you’ve been dancing all night, you definitely want to be wearing shorts. Helmut Lang’s Crepe Shorts and an Easton Pearson Zinc Printed Silk Crop Top is a cute and polished combo. Mix up patterns with Jeffrey Campbell El-Carmen platforms; the black and white micro-dots play off the abstract-print top. Saturday: Short and Sweet

© Boyfriend/Girlfriend, Theory, Costume National, Bounkit, MissoniMiami Herald called last year’s edition of this series “the most eclectic and electric film festival in South Florida.” So forego the Lincoln Road Regal and head to the Arscht Center on Saturday to see this collection of 13 short films, created by 7 teams of local directors and musicians selected by the Borscht Film Festival. The catch? The films are all “music inspired, short narratives” about Miami. Borscht 6 sold out, so though tickets are free, you may want to consider a reserving a seat for $20, which also includes free swag and cocktails.

The Boyfriend/Girlfriend Boyfriend Shirtdress is a polished wardrobe-staple; it looks just as chic on your downtime as it does when you’re off to the “cinema.” Pair it with a subtly-striped navy Rory Blazer from Theory and a luxurious but simple nude Costume National Clutch. Case in point; brunch at Eos, located inside the posh Brickell Viceroy Miami. The buffet-style menu includes tropical fruit salad, roasted beets, and decadent versions of traditional fare such as omelets, eggs Benedict, poached salmon and unlimited mimosas.

Eos describes its desired attire as “dressy casual” but who really knows that means? Anyway, the Imara Color Block Dress from Milly is a take on color-blocking that’s bound to become perennially chic. Go for low-key, low-heeled wrap-around DKNYC Vilaria Sandals, and a leather flap front Paradise Vera Messenger bag in gorgeous dark green from Marc Jacobs.
