Boutiques We Love

Meet Jessie

When you walk into the South Beach location of Jessie boutique, the first thing you notice is that the place is seriously stocked with clothes. Racks and racks of designer clothes are just waiting to be sorted through. And when you start sorting, you notice that Jessie is not playing around. They’ve stocked the place with all your favorite designers, one after the next, with options that are hard to pass up, like the black and white striped silk shorts from Alice + Olivia that would look perfect paired with the fitted white blazer from Elizabeth and James. It is clear that each piece that claims it’s spot on the rack was carefully selected, and will go with at least one other piece in the store, if not more.

And then there are the bathing suits. Jessie hits all the right notes with popular lines including Mya, Mara Hoffman, and the oh-so-popular L-Space. This is South Beach after all, what would a boutique be without some good bikini options?

Once you’ve picked out your outfits it’s time to accessorize. Jessie’s collection of jewelry, bags and shoes range from chunky rings, bracelets and necklaces from House of Harlow, delicate bracelets by Miami designer Jennifer Euner and classic necklaces by the popular 3 Sisters jewelry line. They’ve even got Kim Kardashian’s new line Belle Noel. You’ll find bags by Winter Kate (Nicole Richie’s popular new line) and Hudson (style maven Sarah Jessica Parker’s new venture), and shoes from beloved designer Sam Edelman.

Pleasing the customer is a large part of the Jessie style philosophy. They will call you and let you know when your favorite designer’s new line comes in, and if you become a fan on Facebook they’ll keep you updated every day with their new merchandise so you can see what’s coming in before you make the trip to the store.

Jessie’s owner and founder, Miami native Jessie Uchuya, opened the flagship store in Aventura over seven years ago. As the boutique’s popularity grew, the logical next step was to open a South Beach location, and a little over a year ago the Alton Road location opened it’s doors. Both locations have a dedicated clientele base, and have such a high demand from clients they receive shipments of new merchandise every day.

Katherine McPherson / MFb© Katherine McPherson / MFbThis is thanks to Fashion Director/Merchandise Buyer Dominica Stanziola, who scours showrooms and tradeshows from NYC to L.A. and Vegas to bring customers the latest and greatest styles. “My job is to offer our customers that WOW piece they simply can't live without, whether it be an embellished chiffon mini dress or the perfect white tee.” Says Stanziola. “Personally, as a buyer, I just don't buy what doesn't kill me. If I don't love it, it’s not going in the store. Also, I have to give credit to the stylists/employees we have at Jessie. We are like a little fashion crazy family and we often send our employees lookbooks and ask for their opinions. All of our girls have great taste and know which customer will love each piece.”

It is clear that this fashion crazy family is hitting all the right notes when it comes to style. Bottom line: if you walk out of Jessie empty handed, it’s you, not them.
