Good Clean Fun
Miami may be a city that never sleeps, but it's hard for one person to be part of the action all of the time. A girl who really knows how to party also knows when it's time to take a couple of days off from their fast-paced, raging social life. This weekend, indulge in simple pleasures; a class-act cocktail party in a SoBe oasis, a truly indulgent girls-only afternoon, and a brilliant brunch. Hey, the best part of getting clean is getting dirty again.
Friday: Raleigh, Raleigh, We Likes to Party
What: The Raleigh Cocktail Party
Where: The Raleigh Hotel
When: 8:00 p.m.
© Alberta Ferretti, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Steve Madden, KanupriyaHead over to the chic Raleigh Hotel this Friday for a fabulous cocktail party. In a city of bass-thumping, booty-shaking clubs, it’s nice to see that the classic, classy cocktail party hasn’t become an old-fashioned tradition. Plus, we’ll seize any opportunity to hang out in the glamorous, art-deco stylings of our favorite SoBe hotel hideaway.
Now’s your chance to bust out a swishy, swirling cocktail dress for the occasion – give the color-block trend a whirl in the Alberta Ferretti Color-block Silk Dress. Bright fuchsia details pop against the understated taupe silk for a combo that’s daring and demure. Go bold with a stripey Kate Spade Patent Seersucker Vionette and Tory Burch Curved Serpent Earrings, statement pieces that really fit the mood of a dress like this. It wouldn’t be a cocktail party without a cocktail ring; the Kanupriya Ring’s chunky turquoise complements the tones of the dress. Finish up with the relatively tame - but extraordinarily shiny - Steve Madden Horizonn Sandals in nude.
Saturday: Whatcha Want?
What: What Women Want
Where: Nikki Beach
When: 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
© Marc by Marc Jacobs, Yves Saint Laurent, ASOS, Kenneth Jay Lane, F21The last “What Women Want” party was such a success, that Nikki Beach is bringing it back again. What better way to while away a Saturday afternoon than lounging in luxury, sipping champagne, mini-massages, and an exclusive look at the new French Connection UK Spring Collection runway show? Not to mention tarot readings and cupcakes. Um, we couldn’t think of anything better, either.
Show up in the hot-off-the-runway (and selling out fast) Marc by Marc Jacobs Simone Dress, which embodies everything we love about easy, breezy Miami style; bold color, cool white, and lots and lots of sexy, swingy movement. The longer length is another trend we’re loving for Spring, too. Accessorize this dress like it was on the runway: with a playful armful of stacked bangles – Forever 21 Textured Bangles and Faceted Solid Swirl Bangles, and Kenneth Jay Lane Lapis Bangle. Luxe leather YSL Deauville 105 Sandals and a ASOS Leather Weave Clutch round out the look.
Sunday: Just Eat It
Where: Sra Martinez
When: Served from 11:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m.
© DVF, DV by Dolce Vita, Joseph, Emily ElizabethRoll out of bed and go immediately to an indulgent brunch at the Design District’s renowned Sra Martinez. Housed in a historic, renovated post office, we love Sra Martinez for its chic ambiance and infamous mixologists! The brunch menu spans scrumptious standards with gourmet flair (huevos and ensalada de frutas) to the decadent divine (sweet potato pound cake, and bacon-wrapped dates!)
The last thing you want to be worrying about first thing on a Sunday morning is “what do I wear?” Brunch should be a leisurely, effortless experience; think shorts and an easy, pretty blouse. Pair the coral silk Diane von Furstenberg Eris Top (the slightly boxy, cropped shape is very on-trend) with crisp white Joseph Stretch Cotton Twill Shorts. Strappy sandals, like the DV by Dolce Vita Marci pair, add style and substance to this simple look. Use a graphic bag to liven up solids; the Penny Bag, also from DVF, has an awesome black and white abstract pattern. Finally, a single, statement-making bangle is all the jewelry you need – the Skull Open Bangle from Emily Elizabeth gives this outfit an unexpected edge.
