Spring Forward

One great thing about fashion is the fact that we’re always one season ahead. An even better thing about fashion when it comes to Miami, is we have the ability to spring forward to the newest trends, thanks to the warm weather and laid back attitudes. Spring 2011 has some incredibly bright and demure looks popping up, and we’re here to show you some of our favorites.

French Connection, Patterson J. Kincaid, Milly© French Connection, Patterson J. Kincaid, MillyAs the weather warms up, it's inevitable that heavy jeans and pants will get pushed out of your regular rotation in favor of short shorts, floaty skirts and paper-thin sundresses in order to beat the heat. As much as it is a welcome reprieve, we also tend to get a little bored with the same spring silhoutte. Enter Spring's newest pant: the harem pant. We love the Drape Harem Pant from French Connection as part of your updated spring wardrobe: the draped jersey is easy and light, and the deep navy color and satin piping are sophisticated detais. Dress these up or down depending on the occassion, with anything from a simple white shirt to a pair of chunky statement sandals - just roll up the cuffs to show them off.

Lace, lace, lace. A feminine touch that instantly dresses up any look. Combine lace with light tones and you have a fresh piece covering two upcoming trends. The Claire Lace Tunic by Patterson J. Kincaid features a lace pattern that adds texture and depth to your ensemble. We love the cream tone along with the laid-back silhouette of this separate. Asymmetrical hems are still going strong, so snatch up this piece to transition into Spring. Pair this buttoned tunic with some seventies style denim and heightened heels.

Lastly, we would like to show you the Burano Bonnaz Dress by Milly. Other than this lady-like structure, Spring ahead and start slipping into citrus shades. This bright canary dress features a crochet-like floral pattern over the scoop neck and self-tie belt. We love the bright yellow look – but also look out for poppy, teal, and electric blue. We’re always suckers for hyper electric tones, and this Spring they’re bigger than ever.

Which trends are you willing to try? Are you more into new cuts and silhouettes or colors and texture?
