How to Wear It

A Cotton Miu Miu Dress

Junko is a young, beautiful and smashing girl living large and fabulous in Miami Beach. Originally from Hawaii, she lived in Canada for a while and used Miami as the warm outpost to get through the grey and inhumanly cold winters. After a while, she decided to stay.

One of the three rooms in her apartment is a dedicated closet for her designer clothing collection. It houses long evening gowns on one side, furs on another, and a wall of shoes - from flats to 7 inch spikes, ballerinas to knee-high boots. Some pieces still have the tags on.

This sweet cotton popeline Miu Miu dress is one of those pieces. It has thick straps and an elaborately pleated empire waist. The multi pleats beginning from the bra give the dress a slight tulip shape, making it a fun choice for a cool night out.

Junko and I had a blast in her clothing sanctuary, styling the dress, and Junko was happy to rediscover other pieces she had long ago forgotten.

The TREEHOUSE Opening

Clubs on the beach are perpetually opening, closing and reopening. Everybody remembers a time when one club was actually another club, at a different time in the beach's short history as a nightlife hot spot. The newest club in town is TREEHOUSE and Junko wore her black Miu Miu to last Friday's opening with a Max Mara fox stole and a white Balenciaga clutch, perfect for our yo-yo weather.

We went with sleek silver for the über sleek Mondrian, and paired the dress with a distressed nappa silver Chanel purse and Cesare Paciotti shiny silver platform sandals.

Grooving at Jazid

A Frankie Morello clutch and a straw eclectic hat with a metal skull as a decoration work perfectly for a not-so-cold winter funky evening at Jazid.
