We’ve been seeing a lot of Caribbean influences in fashion lately, and it seems as though they’re just in time for cruise season. While we want to dive right in and build our cruise wardrobe, we’ve decided to take it one step at a time. Our first step? Sun protection. The oversized, floppy hat is a sure way to accessorize your maxi dresses and swimwear while on and off the ship. Did we mention how cute it looks over that beachy, wavy hair? Let’s just say we can’t wait to get our feet wet.

We have to give it to Burberry for their high-quality and high in style sun hats that they designed this season – it was incredibly hard to pick our favorite! This cap comes in a light camel hue that features a brown and white printed rope around the base. We love the way its 4” brim hangs delicately to shield your face, and its ability to work with any cruise style. We personally would pair this with a brightly colored, floral maxi and a pair of strappy sandals.

Next, we bring you a more structured pick. The Jemima Hat by Melissa Odabash gives us that oversized look we love, with a cruise-worthy vibe. We love its beige shade, but our favorite feature likes in the skinny round belt around its base. If you’re looking for an Jackie-O type hat for an effortless look on your upcoming vacation, look no further.

Our last pick is an affordable option for the recessionista. Collection XIIX dove right into cruise style with this fresh, floppy pick. Available in a slew of colors, but we’re loving this straw shield in a deep brown pine cone. But hey, at $28.00 per pop, we may pick it up in a tropical mango or baton rouge shade as well.
