Lace it Up
The Lace-Up trend has been going strong this season with influences from the military to select cadet styles. We love this trend for it’s corset-esque vibe and powerful look. When you pull on these booties, onlookers know you mean business. It seems as though the lace-up is popping up everywhere, but we insist to stick to boots and booties for this trend. Just remember, pick a style that defines you instead of flocking to a pair of ‘it’ booties ‘just because.’
© Elizabeth and James, Stuart Weitzman, Tory BurchElizabeth and James gives us a perfect example of an on-trend lace-up that holds unique style. The Lizzy Booties come in a classic cognac suede that screams luxe. We love how this pair of platform stilettos feature a hidden platform and fold-over cuff. We would pair these booties with your favorite skinny jeans, oversized tee, and waterfall cardigan.
Next, we bring you an edgy, leather pair of lace-ups. The TKO Booties by Stuart Weitzman feature an all black, sleek design. From platform to heel, these booties will add another 5” to your height. Not only do we love the lace-up detail through its hardware rivets, but behind the lace is an exposed zip. Pull on this pair of platforms with jeggings, a white tee, leopard scarf, and finish it off with a black pea coat.
Now, our last pick we’ve mentioned months ago, but we love them so much (especially with its updated fabrics and hues), that we had to mention it again. The Halima Bootie by Tory Burch brings out the preppy side of cadet. We love the olive and chocolate combination along with the mix of suede and leather. These lace-ups tie up through a classic gold rivet with a matching brown, all on top of its elegant wooden platform. These booties are a perfect finish to a casual look. We suggest combining your favorite neutral separates for these boots to steal the show.
What’s your take on the lace-up trend? Are you over it or about to invest?
