Behind the Seams at Petit Pois

Viviana Gabeiras has had an eye for design since she was a child growing up in Venezuela, where her stepmother taught her to sew and make dresses. After running her own store in Venezuela and studying in Paris, Gabeiras went on to study fashion design at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York.

Eleven years ago, she launched Petit Pois, a women's clothing line based out of Miami. Today, Gabeiras is known as the queen of premium mesh designs. Her mesh creations have garnered the attention of trendsetters, celebrity stylists, and international fashion boutiques and magazines.

It can be said that Petit Pois has a religious following; loyal costumers continuously come back for more, having grown addicted to the stylish and irresistibly comfortable pieces. Gabeiras says that she designs for “adventurous women,” women much like Gabeiras herself, who juggle a busy schedule jumping from work, to family, to social life.

MFb had the pleasure of visiting Gabeiras at the Miami headquarters of Petit Pois to get a behind-the-scenes look at the process behind the brand.
