A New Kind of Maxi
The maxi dress has become a quick go-to for the ladies of Miami. With the ease of slipping one right on, breathability in the sometimes scorching hot weather, and versatility to style for various occasions. When you think of a maxi, you think casual, but with each new season comes new breeds of old favorites, and this Fall we introduce you to a new, more elegant dress.
Our first couple of picks comes from a woman who made the wrap dress a necessity for the working-chic lady, Diane von Furstenberg. Taking cue from her own classics, she turned the wrap into a maxi with the Julian Wrap Gown. With an army-esque color palate, waist self-belt tie, and ¾ sleeves, this is the perfect dress for the office come Fall.
© Diane von Furstenberg, Tibi, Diane von Furstenberg, Riller & FontNext, our second pick by DvF is reminiscent of Broadway babies. The Beulah Jersey Gown captures true elegance and innovation with its high front slit, a slimming ruching at the waist, and silk-organza petals that speak volumes on the shoulders (and take place of any shoulder pads you may be craving). Wear this dress with some open toe pumps to an upcoming evening event.
This Fall seems to take note of paying special attention to detail. Tibi takes a classic silhouette and highlights our sexiest attributes for a go-to cocktail dress. The Navy Beaded Silk Gown combines a lovely cinching at the waist, a cowl back to show off some skin, and strong intricate shoulder embellishments. The gold detailing looks rich against the navy, and would look more so elegant with some gold strappy heels, box clutch, and statement ring.
Last, but not least, a beautiful piece. Riller & Fount design for simplicity and a good fit, but the Bella One Sleeve Long Dress speaks for itself. This jersey maxi has an asymmetrical kimono look that is perfect for any evening affair. With a couple of gold bangles and strappy sandals, you’re sure to turn heads.
While the maxi has stayed true to its thin fabrics, the new silhouettes, cuts, and embellishments take this style to a new level. What do you think of this new breed of maxi?
