The Club or the Crawl?

It's Thursday, which means that It's almost time to shake the dust off your work-weary self and head out on the town. Like every weekend, Miami's got it's share of fun just waiting to be had. From poperiffic Travie McCoy doing his thing at LIV to mega shopping and brunching at Bal Harbour. What are you getting into this weekend? More importantly, what are you going to wear?

Where: LIV Nightclub, 4441 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach
From: 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The frontman of Gym Class Heros is coming to LIV, which only means one thing: In order to get in, you’ve got to dress to impress. With this sequined tank from Express, which doubles as a mini dress, you’ll be sure to stand out from the crowd. To make the look even bolder, slip into Rock & Republic’s red ‘Celina’ pumps, which provide contrast and a pop of color. And this red-orange Jaida croc-embossed clutch is the perfect accessory to hold your necessities.

Saturday: Superhero vs. Supervillain Pub Crawl

Where: South Beach
From: 7 p.m. to midnight
Cost: $10 in advance; $15 at the door

Halloween is still months away, but sometimes all you need is one trusty person to declare a fun outing based around alcohol to get in the spirit. We’ve seen it before: the guy who declared National Tequila Day a holiday; the American who apparently felt left out of Cinco de Mayo and did something about it; and, © David Lerner, Windsor, ASOS, LnAnow, the person behind Miami’s very own Superhero vs. Supervillain Pub Crawl. The Crawl, which gives closet nerds an excuse to dress up as their favorite comic book icon (ours is Catwoman), will make its way through four bars, including Finnegan’s Way, Tequila Chicas and Fat Tuesdays (the fourth bar is still TBD).

How does a fashionista like yourself pull off a sexy Catwoman look without looking, well, stupid? Don't over-interpret. Just take elements of cat woman's sexy costume and make them your own. Try investing in a pair of ripped black leggings, like these from LnA, and combining with a basic, black bustier, like this one from David Lerner. Catwoman would be nothing without her gloves. Go sexy-sheer with these from ASOS, or go past the elbow in these sexy satin gloves from Windsor. If you absolutely must do the ears, make them out of black construction paper (or, better, old black jeans) and a headband. MEOW!

Where: Bal Harbour Shops, 9700 Collins Avenue, Bal Harbour
When: Every Sunday until September 5th from noon to 3 p.m.

Head to Bal Harbour Shops on Sunday for shopping, brunch specials, and free musical entertainment provided by The Rhythm Foundation. Start the day at ONE Bal Harbour, which is offering a special three-course brunch with unlimited Bloody Marys, Poinsettias and Mimosas. Phil Fest will keep guests in good spirits with his upbeat Brazilian guitar. Then, do some window shopping or treat yourself to a Bal Harbour sized splurge.

Choose a look that flatters your body type and blends in with the Bal Harbour sophisticates. These cotton-blend twill shorts by Y-3 provide as much comfort as they do style. Pair them with this black-and-white striped ALC top to breathe some nautical life into the look. To offset a color palette that’s too bland, add a splash of gold with Steve Madden’s gladiator-inspired SAAHARA sandal in Dusty Gold, and a stack of thin, gold bangles, like these by Rebecca Norman, provide the perfect balance.
