Lounge a la Luxe
With all this talk of all things luxe for the upcoming season, it’s only appropriate to ask: Do you like luxury? Of course we all like to glam up for a night on the town, but what about those nights where it’s you, a couple of your girlfriends, and re-watching the first two seasons of True Blood? (Okay, so maybe I know these nights all too well.) My friends and I have our luxe lounging style town to a T. Here are a few of our secrets and splurges to lounging a la luxe.
Easy and comfortable cardigans are a must when you’re lounging in style. It’s like having a personal blanket without having to resort to a Snuggie. If you’ve invested in one of these tacky polyester throws, it’s time to throw it in the Goodwill pile and move on up to the luxe side. With that, I bring you the DidionOpen Cocoon Cardigan by Of Two Minds. This black and ivory, open front cardigan comfortably
© Of Two Minds, Winter Kate, Splendid, Aiko, Aiko, Spendiddrapes over you with its shawl collar and dolman sleeves. We love the pre-rolled cuffs that keep the sleeves out of your way while running errands or trying to work that multi-function remote. Once we figure the remote out, its pockets are big enough for storage! If you’re a sucker for fine prints and/or on a smaller budget, try the Opy Jacket by Winter Kate. This 100% vintage silk jacket will keep your style on point while you sit back and relax.
Oversized tops are also a great option to layer while you lounge. Aiko designs for the comfortably luxe, so it’s no surprise that this designer whipped up our next two picks. The Zee Short Sleeve Top follows the military trend with its camo tie-dye, which is to die for. If you love the carefree look, but you want a little more coverage, opt for the Kusama top. We love the way this looks when you roll up the sleeves half-way. Both of these options look great as an off the shoulder style with some leggings or sweat pants.
As far as bottoms go, we turn to Splendid for their straight forward and care free style. If you’re a fan of a terry wide-leg, try their Active Always Pants. Don’t be fooled by the name, we don’t expect you to do much in this draw-string option. And if you’re looking for more of a twist to your bottoms, try the Knit Harem Pants. Wear these pants up high or right at your hips for a slouchy look.
We may still be in a recession, but that doesn't mean you have to frump it up at home. Because nothing makes you feel better about the state of things then luxurious fabrics and flattering silhouettes, even if all you're planning to doing is working the remote.
