This Season's Most Coveted Accessories
New collections are pouring out by designers old and new with one thing in common – accessories galore! Retro and classic are combining forces by taking staple pieces and embellishing them with studs, beadwork, and resin, and creating new classics all in their own. Here are some of the very best from this season.
First, the Retro Sunglasses by Alexander Wang. Alexander Wang has a gift of paying special attention to detail, and these sunnies are no different. Wang accented these frames with an antique zip pull for a zipper illusion. The Retro Sunglasses are available in black, but we’re craving them in tortoise shell. This updated classic can be worn with anything this summer and into fall.
Our next pick is the stunning Gold Plated Abalone Large Starburst Necklace by House of Harlow 1960. Nicole Richie is a genius at her craft and has created a line of instant classics. As a way to update her own designs, Richie took the Starburst Necklace from a basic black resin and added swirls of colors. We love the versatility this necklace brings – wear it alone or piled high with your favorite jewels.
Another piece we like from House of Harlow 1960 is the Gold-Played Key Cocktail Ring. Richie styles for the vintage boho gal, and this ring emanates that to a T. This cocktail ring is 14 karat gold-plated with a beautiful vintage key that stretches across 3 fingers.
Next, new designer Noir Jewelry has created a pair of stand-out Demi Hoops. The Demi Hoops are gold-plated drop-hoop earrings that have an Aztec feel. The assorted beads detail a delicate pattern with other low key gold accents. If you love big earrings as a statement piece, these are a must have.
Our final favorite from this season gives us a Hermes-esque vibe, and if it’s Hermes, it’s for us. The Ball Stud Wrap Watch by La Mer Collections is another update on their classic pieces. The wrap watch is a specialty of La Mer Collections. This camel and gold version features studs along the thin, light band for an edgy look. We love how you can wear this alone, or piled with various leather wrap bracelets.
With new lines and designers popping up everywhere we look, it makes it harder to stand out, not to mention, makes it harder to pick our favorites. But we love these updated classics!
