Let the Tie-Dye Roll

With the bohemian trend going strong this summer, along with it comes every hippy's go-to fashion: tie-dye. Tie-dye is usually found on t-shirts and tapestries, but this summer tie-dye is all over the place. And it's been updated to incorporate muted neutrals and even prints. We’re in the midst of music festival season; so take a hint from some of these pieces for an up-to-date hippie chic look. Here are some of our favorite tie-dyed pieces.

What do you get when you combine tie-dye leather, a studded flap pocket, motorcycle style zippers and a detachable chain strap? It sounds too good to be true, but it’s the Tie Dye Easy Rider Date Clutch by Rebecca Minkoff. This beautiful blue hued bag incorporates so many different elements, but isn’t overdone. It’s definitely a statement piece that you can dress up or down with ease with plenty of room and compartments to fit it all.

With a similar blue hue, but unmatched style, the Tie Dye Zip Continental by Tony Burch brings tie-dye forward by leaps and bounds. Who knew you could turn from preppy to bohemian? Tory Burch shows us that it’s possible by giving her classic continental wallet a unique lift.

With all of these designers incorporating tie-dye leather, Delman had to get in on the trend. Try the Serena thong sandals for a neutral take on tie-dye that truly hits the ground running. Delman promises a perfect fit that’s snug around your heel. While this pair is available in an oceanic aqua, blue, and taupe, we prefer them in super-subtle luggage/white.

Now that we’ve covered some accessories, it’s time for the basics. Look effortless in the Fett Romper by Leyendecker. This line has a variety of tie-dye dresses, rompers, leggings and skirts, but this piece was our favorite by far. This earth toned tie-dye romper features a drawstring tie with braid detail and low-key cutout at the waist. Wear this romper with some leather gladiators and gold cuffs for a complete boho-chic look.

Of course, tie-dye is used to the sunshine. But wearing tie-dye at night? You can do it in the Laurie Tie Dye Dress by Alice+Olivia. This silky dress features a combination of neutral dye with pops of color. It comes complete with a buckled grosgrain belt that fits snug over the already elastic waist. Wear this dress with a chain-strap purse and strappy platform sandals.

So what do you say? Are you up for the challenge to keep tie-dye relevant and chic?
